Volleyball Blanks Le Moyne 3-0 for Second Straight Win
SYRACUSE, NY – The Merrimack volleyball team defeated Le
Moyne College 3-0 Saturday afternoon for its second road victory in
as many days.
Game scores were 25-20, 25-23, 25-17.
The Warriors were very sharp for the second straight match,
committing just three receiving errors, while winning 62% of their
sideout points.
Merrimack led virtually the entire way, surrendering the lead
just three times in the match as they forced 19 Dolphin attack
errors, including nine in the third set.
For the second straight match, Nicole Duarte
(Windham, NH) led the way offensively with 14 kills and
just two attack errors, while Molly Cindric
(Westlake Village, CA) added 13 kills and 10 digs for the
double-double. Jenna Reilly
(Northport, NY) chipped in with nine kills and four blocks
(two solo), while Elyse Lorenz
(Frankfort, IL) ran the offense with 36 assists and two
aces.
"We made the most of our defensive opportunities and converted
them into earned points today," said head coach Joey Pacis. "This
was a must win weekend for us, and the team stepped up and played
with focus."
Merrimack (4-8, 3-4 NE-10) hosts St. Mary's (Canada) in an
exhibition game Thursday night at 7 p.m. before departing for
Rollins College in Florida for three games next weekend.
