Women's Lacrosse Downed by #4 Le Moyne 20-9
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack women's lacrosse team was defeated by #4 Le Moyne 20-9 Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field.
Brittany Brigandi led the way with nine goals for the Dolphins, as the visitors scored 11 straight goals to put the game away in the second half.
Merrimack started slowly, trailing 6-1 before scoring six of the next 10 goals to trail by just three, 10-7 at halftime. Mary Pasquantonio (Plainville, MA) and Christina McCarron (Westwood, MA) each picked up two goals, while Brigandi had five first-half tallies, as Le Moyne forced 10 first-half Warrior turnovers.
Colleen Strachan (Bedford, MA), Pasquantonio, and McCarron each finished with two goals each, while Alicia Tinsley (Shrewsbury, MA) and Tyler Szymanski (Framingham, MA) each added a goal and an assist. Liz Lyons (Westwood, MA) added three more caused turnovers to her conference lead while Inna Hedden (Woodbine, MD) stopped eight shots in the loss.
Merrimack (6-4, 3-3 NE-10) begins a three-game road trip at Southern New Hampshire Wednesday at 4 p.m.
