CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Samantha Ridgewell (Outlook, Saskatchewan) would give another great effort in net, falling just one save shy of a second consecutive 50-save performance, but the Merrimack College women's ice hockey team was unable to find the net again as the Warriors fell to t#1/1 Boston College, 6-0 at Conte Forum on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
The Eagles appeared much more comfortable on their home ice from the beginning of the game, and the Warriors would give them two opportunities to take an early lead. Merrimack would take two penalties in the opening frame, and the second-best power play unit in the nation would capitalize on both, netting two power-play goals to take a 2-0 lead after one period. One of the two Eagles scores in Friday night's game was also on the man advantage.
Boston College would add another score 4:32 into the second period on scrum to the right of the net, as the puck would just sneak in by the post as multiple sticks fought for possession. The Warriors would get a power play opportunity in the final two minutes of the period and freshman Paige Voight (St. Michael, Minn.) would get a nice look as time expired but it would be turned away.
The Eagles would turn it on in the third period, netting three unanswered goals to close out the game. Makenna Newkirk and Haley Skarupa would both net their second goals of the game in a 1:12 span, extending their lead to 5-0 with 12:59 remaining. A late shorthanded goal from the nation's leading scorer in Alex Carpenter would cap the 6-0 final.
