How It Happened
Taking to the turf for the final time this spring, Merrimack battled Assumption valiantly in what  ultimately become a defensive battle over the span of 60 minutes.

Despite generating several quality chances over the game's opening minutes, Merrimack found itself down by a 3-0 tally despite generating 10 shot attempts in the first half. Assumption goalkeeper Jaclyn Chirco was the difference on the day, finishing with 14 saves overall – several of which were from point-blank range.

Trailing only by three at the break, Merrimack continued to pile on the pressure as the second half started, even after Assumption scored an early goal to take a 4-0 lead.

The Warriors continued to generate shot after shot, but none of their eight second-half shot attempts would beat Chirco.

The Greyhounds eventually added three more goals to their lead, which they held on to until the final horn sounded.
