How It Happened
  • Merrimack had pressure early to start the contest and capitalized with a goal in the eighth minute. Junior Tori Daigle (Dayton, Maine) raced down the right side of the field and sent a cross into the middle of the box, where the ball found the head of senior Sarah Boucher (Northbridge, Mass.) to give the Warriors an early 1-0 lead. Seconds later, Daigle looked to extend the lead, but her shot went just wide of the net.
  • The Merrimack defense had two big stops in the first half clearing the ball away from danger in the 16th and 23rd minutes, respectively.
  • 28' – The Warriors took advantage of an own goal to take a 2-0 lead, as the ball sent off the head an Adelphi defender into the Panthers' net.
  • The Panthers answered quickly as Savannah Taylor headed the ball into the upper left corner of the net in the 30th minute.
  • The Panthers had a penalty kick with 7:04 left in the first half, but sophomore keeper Erin Fulton (Farmington, Conn.) made a diving stop towards the left post to keep a 2-1 Merrimack lead.
  • The second half saw 10 shots taken by each team, but neither team could find the back of the net.
  • Fulton made 15 saves, seven of which came in the second half.
Inside The Numbers

  • It was Boucher's second goal in three games and team-leading eighth assist.
