NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's soccer team returns back to Martone-Mejail Field, on Wednesday night for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup against Bentley University for a 7 p.m. contest
Last Time Out:
- Merrimack defeated New Haven 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. It was the third straight shutout by the Warriors, all coming by the score of 3-0.
- Graduate student Josue Ruiz Maya (Madero, Mexico), senior Juan Meza (Cali, Columbia), and junior Lars Sund (Stavanger, Norway) all scored in the contest.
- Senior goalkeeper Lucas Rezende (Weymouth, Mass.) has a 5-1 record, a 0.33 goals-against-average, and four shutouts this season. Sund leads the team with nine points (3g, 3a).
Last Season/Inside the series vs. Bentley
- The Warriors downed the Falcons, 1-0, last season. Sund scored the only goal of the game.
- Merrimack has a 12-5-2 record since 1998 against the Falcons in the regular season, as well as a 2-0 win in the NE10 Quarterfinals in 2015.
The Falcons:
- Bentley comes into the game with a 0-4-1 record, the last contest being a 0-0 draw against NE10 foe, Southern Connecticut State University.
- The Falcons have four one-goal losses, including a pair of 2-1 losses during the Merrimack Kickoff Classic two weeks ago at Martone-Mejail.
- Eric Morra and Matthew Tidona each have a goal for Bentley, while goalkeeperDavid Price has made three starts. Price has a 0.62 goals-against-average and a .867 save percentage.
