SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's soccer team could not overcome a first half deficit, falling to American International College 2-0, on Wednesday night during NE10 action at Ronald J. Abdow Field.

How It Happened
- Sophomore keeper Erin Fulton (Farmington, Conn.) made her first start of the season and made her presence known early. She cut off a Yellow Jacket forward to push the ball away in the opening minutes. Senior Andrea Rego (Dartmouth, Mass.) had a chance on the counter and received a pass just outside of the box, sending the shot just over the net.
- AIC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute, as Taylor Kue took a shot that deflected off a defender and into the net. Moments later Linnea Herbertsson fired a shot from the top of the 18 that went to the upper left corner to give the home team a 2-0 lead.
- 35' – Rego had a chance to cut the lead in half, but her shot was barely tipped by the keeper.
- Merrimack had its best chances in the 57th and 59th minutes, but the first shot was saved and the second hit the right post.
