MIDDLETON, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's tennis program saw junior
Alex Fedorov win both of his contests, including a match-clinching three-set singles victory at No. 3, guaranteeing an upset of regionally ranked Chestnut Hill on Saturday evening at Northeast Tennis Center. The Warriors avenged last season's 5-0 loss to the Griffins in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

- Second-year head coach Alex Loyer changed up the lineup on Sunday, utilizing three different doubles pairings and adjusting his singles lineup
- Junior Alex Fedorov and sophomore Denis Davydov played together for the first time, winning at the second flight, 8-6. Senior Frank Vega joined sophomore Paul Weidinger at the third flight, claiming a third double win by the same margin to take a 2-1 lead into singles
- Senior Mikhail Belov and Davydov posted two-set wins at the top two flights, but Chestnut Hill won at fourth-sixth singles to square the match
- Fedorov was the last man standing, winning his opening set (7-6 (1)), but lost his second frame to force a deciding third game. The junior blanked his opposition, 6-0, to clinch the win over the fifth ranked program in the ITA regional rankings
