COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Merrimack College men's tennis program improved to 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play on Sunday afternoon, shutting out the Saint Michael's College Purple Knights, 9-0, in a road match up in Colchester, Vt.

- Merrimack completed its first doubles sweep of the season, with the longest match lasting just 11 games. Merrimack's top-flight Russian pairing of senior Mikhail Belov and sophomore Denis Davydov won by an 8-1 margin while senior Frank Vega and sophomore Alex Fedorov needed just one more game to prevail at No. 2 (8-2). Junior Tyler Clontz and sophomore Paul Weidinger won in 8-3 fashion at third doubles
- Flights No. 1-4 in the singles venue featured two-set sweeps, while fifth and sixth singles finished as one-set affairs
- Davydov nearly posted an unblemished victory at second singles (6-0, 6-1), while Vega clinched his match at No. 3 with a shutout win in the second set (6-2, 6-0)
- Belov and Weidinger won at No. 1 and No. 6, respectively, to join Fedorov and Vega with consecutive singles wins to start Merrimack's NE10 slate
