Rapid Recap
- The two schools traded goals over the opening 10 minutes of the half, as Merrimack's first two tallies in less than three minutes by sophomore Haley Bartlett and junior Amber Feminella were nullified by back-to-back Bentley strikes to tie the game at 2-2.
- The Warriors ripped off four straight, however, over a three-minute span, with Feminella and Schofield combining for both of them. It was Schofield's second that pushed her over the 100-point threshold, joining Feminella as the second active Merrimack player to do so.
- Bentley scored in succession to trim a four-goal deficit to two, but Merrimack potted the final two goals of the half from Bartlett to take an 8-4 lead into the break.
- The home side would, at one point, score seven uninterrupted tallies bridging the first half into the first 10 minutes of the second, as Feminella, Schofield, senior Annette Ruggiero freshman Catherine Mahanna and finally Bartlett built Merrimack's lead to nine (13-4) with 20:32 left.
- From there on out, the Falcons would play catch-up but never get closer than six goals until the final minute of regulation, when it was too little, too late.
Top Performances
- Bartlett wound up atop the scoring leader board on Tuesday with six points on four goals and two helpers, finishing a point back of her single-game high.
- Trepaney finished one save shy of her career-high, backstopping the Warriors to victory with an incredible 17-save outing.
- Feminella was the top scorer, as has been the case all year, with five more tallies on Tuesday. Schofield was the other multi-goal getter for the home side with a hat trick, as six different Warriors in total scored at least once against Bentley.
- Ruggiero led Merrimack with three draw controls but was one of four players with two or more of them alongside Schofield, Mahanna and rookie Meghan Dzialo. Senior Carly McKenna, meanwhile, had a team-high four ground balls.
- Rookie Kelsey Daly set a new career-high with four of Merrimack's season-high 17 caused turnovers.
