Haley Bartlett impressed in her Division I debut scoring four goals. Freshman attacker
Natalie Calkins had an excellent collegiate debut scoring three out of the team's 11 goals. Classmates

Meghan Dzialo, and
Vicki Palmer all had one goal each. Senior
Olivia Colletti also added a snipe of her own in the second half. With the loss the Warriors move to 0-1 on the young season.

How It Happened
- It only took Bartlett 37 seconds to score the first Division I women's lacrosse goal at Merrimack College. She received a pass from junior Lulu Sweeney who got credited with the assist. Vermont came back no more then two minutes later to tie things up. After the UVM goal it only took Darrell 11 second to give the Warriors the lead back. The Warriors then scored three unanswered goals in an eight-minute span, two by Bartlett who earned a first half hat trick. Vermont then scored eight unanswered goals to end the first half, making the score 9-5 as the teams headed the locker rooms.
- The Catamounts started the second half off on a 4-0 with goals from four different players, making the score 13-5. The Warriors went a woman up and Palmer answered with her first goal of the season making the deficit seven. Vermont responded by scoring again pushing the lead back to eight. Calkins responded with her second goal of the season off of a pass from senior Ally DaCosta. With just over nine minutes left in the game Bartlett scored her fourth goal of the game. Dzialo followed Bartlett a minute later to make the score 15-9. Vermont responded with a goal, followed up by two Merrimack goals by Colletti and Calkins for her third of the game. Vermont ended the game with three goals.
