How It Happened
  • Merrimack scored the game's first goal and the only tally of the period. Allison Reeb carried the puck in from her own defensive zone, through to below the goal line before sending it out to traffic in front of the goal. Defender Kiki Roust followed the play, stationed at the top of the goal mouth where she redirected Reeb's pass in for her first goal of the season.
  • In the second period, Vermont found an equalizer at even strength two and a half minutes into the frame, carrying momentum from a carryover power play to open the period.
  • Late in the second, Natalie Nemes worked a prime opportunity to retake the lead with an end-to-end rush from deep within the offensive zone. Nemes cut in across the faceoff circle, handling the puck to the outside of her defender with Madison Oelkers pressuring with her at the goal mouth. She fired a shot that was swallowed up, before the Warriors earned a chance on the power play.
  • Vermont scored the only special teams goal of the day, notching the game winner on the power play at 7:16 of the third.
