NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Merrimack College women's soccer team's balanced attack led the way in a 2-0 victory over the Mount Saint Mary's Mountaineers on Tuesday for their first Northeast Conference win of the year.

The Summary
  • Two minutes into the game, the Warriors earned a corner. Rebecca Harty's service carried strongly over the defense, falling at Nicole Langlois' feet where her touch sent Merrimack ahead, 1-0.
  • Merrimack's second goal would come in the 78th minute, as Molly Murnane charged up the wing with space, pulling a Mount defender in before chipping a pass over to Bridget Austin who skied a shot from the top of the 18-yard box for her first of the year.
Stats & Figures
  • The Warriors offense pelted the Mountaineers with shots, with 25 attempts and eight shots on goal in the game. Their 25 attempts are the highest ever for Merrimack in NEC play in regulation or overtime.
  • Merrimack's defense was stifling, holding the Mount to eight shots and four shots on goal in the game. The squad did not allow a shot on goal in the first half.
  • Megan Langlois earned her second clean sheet of the season, making her first save of the game in the 48th minute.
