NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College men's volleyball team won its third match on Sunday afternoon after winning three straight sets after trailing 2-0 against Central State University.
Zyshonne Lang had the most kills in the game with 21 kills. Xander Thesz and Matthew Motes both had 10 kills as well.

- A kill by Lang got the Warriors their first point going into the first set against the Marauders. Both teams traded the lead in the early stages of the set with Lang getting another kill to tie it up. Central State had the lead the most until Miles Dewhirst got a kill along with Lang to bring the game to 21-17. Central State made sure to not allow the Warriors to get the jump on them in the first set with the Marauders taking it. 25-20
- The Marauders looked to take the second set early by scoring two points. Dewhirst broke it up with a kill along with Motes to only trailing two points early in the set. Later in the second set, the Warriors would go on a four-point run with three kills from Motes. Central State continued on the attack with a couple of points and won the second set. 25-18
- Going into the third set, both teams traded the lead with each other early on in the set. Carson Bashford and Dewhirst both got a kill to give the Warriors a one-point lead. Central State would go on a three-point run to bring the score to 19-19. Kills led by Thesz, Lang, and Kyle Standage brought the Warriors back and won them the third set bringing it to 2-1. 25-22
- Bashford and Dewhirst lead the Warriors to a three-point run in the fourth set. The Warriors had a four-point lead during the middle of the set until the Marauders went on a five-point run in which Lang stopped with a kill for Merrimack. With the Warriors having a one-point lead and the score being 24-23, Lang finished off the fourth set with a kill and tied the game 2-2 to go into the fifth set. 25-23
- The Warriors wasted no time in winning the fifth set early with a kill by Dewhirst and Motes to take the lead 3-1. Both teams again traded one point leads with each other in the set. The Marauders looked to take the lead by going on a four-point run. However, the Warriors proved they wanted the win by going on a five-point run with Lang having three kills and Motes having one to get the win for Merrimack. 15-12
