Storrs, CT.—The Merrimack Warriors Women's hockey team scored first but were undone in overtime against the Connecticut Huskies on Friday afternoon, despite the loss, the Warriors made it seven straight games with at least one point.
The Basics
Merrimack (6-9-1, 3-7-1): 1, Connecticut (11-4-1, 9-3-0): 3
Merrimack would take the lead after a scoreless first period on the powerplay as
Sophie McKinley made it five goals in five games as she fired in the goal on the powerplay.
The Huskies would find the tying goal less than a minute later.
In the third period,
Calli Hogarth made 14 stops to send the game into overtime.
In the overtime period, UConn would score just over two minutes in to take the victory.
