Boston, MA— The Merrimack Women's Track and Field team began their 2023-24 season in the Suffolk Relays, held at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston on Saturday afternoon.
 

• Jahaida Gabirel won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.73 seconds.

 

• Merrimack's relay team of Sydney Connolly, Hunter Laubstein, Adreienne McKoy-Sophos and Jahaida Gabriel won the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:45.28.

 

• The team of Kaleigh Lane, Carla Bouchrouche, Riley Paskow, and Renee Wilson finished sixth in the same event with a time of 1:49.15

 

• Olivia Beaudet finished 7th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:10.37.

 

• Samantha LiPetri finished 8th in the one mile run with a time of 5:324.07, Rachel Needham came home in tenth in the same event with a time of 5:28.34.

 

• Hunter Laubstein and Kaleigh Lane finished 8th and 9th respectively in the 300 meter dash, with times of 42.69 & 43.25.

 

• Sydney Connolly placed 8th in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 26.49.

 

• Elizabeth Murphy finished 7th in the High Jump with a mark of 1.50 meters (4' 11").

 

• Makayla Champagne placed in the top 10 in the weight throw event with a mark of 13.52 meters (44' 4"). She also finished 8th in the shot put event, throwing a 11.34 meter. (37' 2" 1/2).

 

• Renee Wilson finished tenth in the long jump, jumping 5.03 meters (16' 6").

Up Next: The Warriors will participate in the Joe Donohue meet, held at the Track at New Balance in Boston, hosted by Northeastern on December 8th.
