Couture's New School Record Highlights Men's Track and Field's Performance at Joe Donohue Meet

Boston, MA-- The Merrimack Men's Track and Field closed out their second and final meet of the calendar year with a strong effort in the Joe Donahue Meet hosted by Northeastern on Friday afternoon.

Cory Couture won the 300 meter dash with a new school record time of 33.65, setting meet and facility record and placing him #4 in the NCAA for the young season. Sean Glass placed seventh with a 35:31



Antonio Craveiro won the one mile event with a time of 4:27.15, Zachary Bail, Luke Llewellyn, Owen Schultz, Nolan Dickinson and Andrew Worden finished second through sixth with times of 4:27.54, 4:27.65, 4:32.31, 4:38.19, and 4:41.39.

Merrimack's relay team of Jaeden Smith, Blake Hickey, Mark Sten and Cory Couture won the 1600 meter relay with a time of 3:20.24

Tucker Carroll finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.49 meters, Brady Trask finished fourth with a mark of 6.22 meters, Blake Wadley fifth with a jump of 6.16 meters and Clayton Rahaman with a mark of 6.04 meters.

Maxim Lussier finished second in the Pole Vault, with a height of 4.50 meters, Max Bothwell finished third with a height of 4.35 meters and Tucker Carroll in fourth with a vault of 4.05 meters.
Claudel Chevalier set a new School record and finished third in the weight throw with a throw of 17.73 meters, Grant Eastin placed seventh with a 15.86 meter throw.

John Elie finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdle event with a time of 8.94.

Blake Hickey finished fourth in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:08.45.

Jack Lombardi placed fourth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:56.21.

Blake Wadley and Carson Mighty finished fifth and sixth in the 200 meter dash with times of 22.73 and 22.82.

Sean Glass finished fifth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.10 seconds, Franco Recto finished in sixth in the same event with a 7.15.


Grant Eastin placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.17 meters.

The Warriors return to action when they participate in the Bryant Throws in Smithfield, Rhode Island on January 11th.
