The Merrimack Men's Volleyball team was defeated by the Harvard University Crimson last night by score of 3-0, snapping their five game winning streak.
 
In the first set, the Warriors fell behind early before scoring three straight points to tie the set at four, before matching the Crimson point for point, not letting the Crimson out of a two point lead before the Crimson went on a five point run, and the Warriors could not make up the deficit which got as high as nine before the Warriors scored five straight points cutting the lead to four before Harvard got the final point.

In the second set, the Warriors rode four multiple point scoring runs in a very tightly contested battle to a 14-12 lead. Both teams would split points with the Warriors final lead in the set being 17-16 before a late Crimson run would finish the set and put Merrimack down 2-0.
 
The third set, much like the first two was very closely contested to start before the Crimson went on a six point run, but the Warriors refused to give in as they scored six of the next eight points to cut the Harvard lead back to two. The Warriors continued to chip away and keep it close but were unable to complete the comeback and lost the third and final set.
 
Notes and Numbers:

• Zyshonne Lang had nine kills and Xander Thesz and Matthew Motes both had eight each.
• The trio also had two blocks each.
• Carson Bashford had 31 assists.
• Kyle Standage led the team in digs with seven.

 
Up Next:
The Warriors are back in action next Friday at 7:00 PM as they're set to face Daemen University at Hammel Court.
