STORRS, CONN.- The Merrimack College Women's Volleyball Team lost their final two games on the weekend as a part of the UConn Invite, being defeated by the Hofstra Prideand the tournament hosts, the UConn Huskies.

Merrimack fell behind early as Hofstra took control in set one, but the Warriors would go on a short run, scoring seven of next 12 points in the set and would cut the lead to seven late, but the Pride would take set one.
In set two, the Warriors got off to strong start, scoring the first seven of ten points, with Hofstra going on multiple scoring runs to take set two.
After losing the second set, The Warriors got off to a slow start but would cut into the lead on several occasions as Merrimack hung tough but fell in the third and final set.Â
Notes and Numbers
Cate Wright led the way in kills for the Warriors with ten.
Mia Ardila had 19 assists for Merrimack.
Ashley Gajdik had 11 digs.

Merrimack was able to scatter points but the Huskies took set one handily.

In set two, the Warriors matched points to begin play before scoring six of seven points to take a 16-15 lead. From there, the Warriors would hold the lead to the end with
Cate Wright getting the set winning kill to tie the match.

In set three, the Warriors would start similarly to set two, matching pace with the Huskies before Merrimack would mount a late charge but UConn would hang on to win the third set and take a 2-1 lead.
In set four, Merrimack started strong, surviving an early lead from the Huskies to score nine of 12 points to snag a 11-10 lead. Merrimack would continue to match points to an 18-18 tie but UConn would ultimately take the lead and match win.
Notes and Numbers
Jules Carlat led the ways in kills and digs with 13 and 10 respectively.
Mia Ardila had 32 assists.

The Warriors stay on the road to take on the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday, September 8
th. The game begins at 6 PM.
