Burlington, VT-- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team picked up the sweep against the Vermont Catamounts, picking up their second straight 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon.
Merrimack (2-2-0, 2-1-0): 3, Vermont (0-4-0, 0-2-0): 2
The Warriors got on the board first, as
Rachel Bjorgan slotted home a rebound point shot from
Solveig Gisler late in the first, and wouldn't wait around after the first intermission, as
Madison Cardaci would be fed the puck streaking down the middle and would fire it home to double the lead.

Vermont would tie the score with two unanswered goals of their own, but Merrimack would go back ahead in the final minute of the second as
Maria Lindberg would score on the powerplay to retake the lead with the eventual game winner.

With the one goal lead intact, the Warriors would hold the Catamounts to only five shots in the final period to preserve the victory.
