Rapid Recap
Merrimack would start their first road contest off slow on both offense and defense. The Riverhawks jumped out to a quick 3-0 start until a Natalie Calkins goal would put the Warriors on the board. From there it would be all UMass Lowell for the rest of the quarter. Six unanswered goals would put Merrimack down 9-1 heading into the 2nd. A couple of freshmen would step up in the second quarter as both Kaitlin Roche and Lindsay Atkinson would net their first collegiate goals back-to-back. The 2nd quarter was much more competitive, but the Warriors would still be down 13-4 heading into the half.

The second half saw two low-scoring quarters. Lowell would quickly jump on the scoreboard to start the 3rd, with Merrimack responding with a couple of goals themselves. The rest of the quarter would be back and forth, ending by a score of 16-7 in favor of the Riverhawks. The 4th quarter was a defensive battle as only 2 shots were attempted through the first 11 minutes. Merrimack would put up two late goals to match Lowell in the quarter. The Warriors seemed to have played inspired for the last three quarters of the game, but the first quarter proved to be the deciding factor as UMass Lowell would end up winning this one 18-9.
