Women's Hockey's Season Comes To A Close After Battle With Northeastern

Boston, M.A.—The Merrimack Warriors Women's hockey team's season came to a close after battling the Northeastern Huskies, falling 4-1 in the Hockey East Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday night.
 
 
The Basics
Merrimack (11-22-3, 7-17-3): 1, Northeastern (24-10-3, 16-8-3): 4
 
Merrimack held the shot advantage early, but both teams were scoreless through the opening 20 minutes.
In the second, the Warriors scored first as Celine Tedenby toss from the point was deflected in by Alex Ferguson less than two minutes in.
Northeastern tied the game four minutes later and would take the lead at the midway point in the second.
 
In the third, Northeastern would score on a face off win late in the period and would add an empty netter to punch their ticket to the Hockey East Semifinals.
Notes and Numbers
  • Alex Ferguson scored her second career playoff goal in the game.
  • Celine Tedenby had the lone assist.
  • Calli Hogarth made 35 saves in the loss.
