Orlando, FL— The Merrimack Men's Track and Field team competed in the University of Central Florida Invite this past weekend, a performance highlighted by new school records set by 
Stephen Gallagher and 
Billy Coakley.
 
Stephen Gallagher finished on the podium in the Javelin final placing third with a throw of 66.80 meters, this throw smashed the school record by over four meters.
Cory Couture and 
Sean Glass both had outstanding performances in the 200-meter dash, as Cory finished in fourth with a time of 21.10 seconds and Sean placed in eighth with a time of 21.28 seconds. Cory also had a time of 48.06 in the 400-meter dash.
Sean Glass ran a time of 10.85 seconds in the 100-meter dash, good for second quickest in school history.
Billy Coakley broke his own personal best and school record in the 1500-meter final with a time of 3:50.04 en-route to an eighth place finish overall.
John Elie finished in eighth in the 110-meter hurdle event with a time of 14.88 seconds.

Merrimack will host their first of two home meets this season when they compete in the Merrimack Track Carnival next Thursday.
