Two New School Records Highlight Men's Track and Field's UCF Invite Outing

Orlando, FL— The Merrimack Men's Track and Field team competed in the University of Central Florida Invite this past weekend, a performance highlighted by new school records set by Stephen Gallagher and Billy Coakley.
 
Stephen Gallagher finished on the podium in the Javelin final placing third with a throw of 66.80 meters, this throw smashed the school record by over four meters.

Cory Couture and Sean Glass both had outstanding performances in the 200-meter dash, as Cory finished in fourth with a time of 21.10 seconds and Sean placed in eighth with a time of 21.28 seconds. Cory also had a time of 48.06 in the 400-meter dash.

Sean Glass ran a time of 10.85 seconds in the 100-meter dash, good for second quickest in school history.

Billy Coakley broke his own personal best and school record in the 1500-meter final with a time of 3:50.04 en-route to an eighth place finish overall.

John Elie finished in eighth in the 110-meter hurdle event with a time of 14.88 seconds.
 
Up Next:
Merrimack will host their first of two home meets this season when they compete in the Merrimack Track Carnival next Thursday.
