Rapid Recap
Coming off back-to-back losses, the Warriors came into this game with a clean slate and their play showed it. It would take just under 7 minutes, but Merrimack was the first team on the board as Sophie Scearbo buried a pass from Natalie Calkins into the back of the net. The Warriors did a great job controlling the ball, only allowing Delaware State four possessions the entire quarter. With 42 seconds left in the 1st, Lindsay Atkinson extended Merrimack's lead to two. The Hornets finally got on the scoresheet early in the 2nd, but the Warriors responded with 2 goals of their own only minutes later to make the game 4-1. Each team had solid scoring opportunities as Hayley Kowalczyk was able to stop all three of Delaware State's. Allison Lamphere notched Merrimack's fifth goal of the game as the Warriors led 5-1. Going into the half, the score would be 5-2 as the Hornets scored moments after.

In the 3rd quarter, Delaware State looked to claw their way back into the match, making the score 6-4 Merrimack halfway through. The Warriors put their foot on the gas scoring the last 5 goals of the quarter, which included one from Grace Boneu who had a season-high 3 goals today. Merrimack's offense continued to work like a well-oiled machine in the last quarter of play. Lindsay Atkinson scored her 6th goal of the game with 10:45 remaining to smash her previous season high as she continues to make her case for NEC Rookie of the Year. Merrimack tacked on 2 more goals as the Warriors would defeat the Delaware State Hornets 16-6.
