AMHERST, Mass.— The Merrimack Men's Track and Field team competed in the Flagship Spring Opener at UMass this past weekend. The meet was highlighted by multiple personal records and a school record broken by
Sean Glass.
Merrimack won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:17.54 which is good enough for 3
rd in program history thanks to
Jaeden Smith,
Mark Sten,
Blake Hickey, and
Cory Couture.
Cory Couture came in 2
nd with a personal record in the 200-meter with a time of 21.29 seconds (Legal Wind).
The Men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Sean Glass,
Mark Sten,
Franco Recto, and
Cory Couture finished the event in 3
rd place.
Sean Glass placed 3
rd in the 100-meter with a time of 10.60 seconds, which is the fastest wind-aided time in school history. Glass also had a personal record in the 200-meter, coming in 5
th place.
John Elie Jr. came in 4
th place out of 20 competitors in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.73 seconds.
Zachary Hubbard finished 4
th in Men's Javelin with 51.22 meters on his first and last attempts.
Mark Sten came in 6
th in the 400-meter with a time of 50.32 seconds.
Grant Eastin secured his own personal best in the Shot Put on his first attempt (14.53 meters), which landed him 6
th place in the event.
Blake Wadley placed 6th in the triple jump with 12.57 meters that came on his fourth attempt.
