Lowell, MA – Merrimack College Warriors Women's Soccer team kicked off their 2024 season with a tight 1-0 win against the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on Thursday night.

• After a scoreless first 45 minutes with several half chances, the Warriors nearly took the lead on a free kick that skimmed just over the crossbar before at around 60 minutes into the contest, Emma Rogorzenski's shot would ricochet over the goaltender's outstretched hands and the rebound would be headed home from close range by Isabella Keogh.

 

• With the lead secured, the Warriors would withstand the Riverhawk pressure as Lily Morgan would turn away five shots in the second half including a toe save from inside the six yard box to pick up the clean sheet and the win.

• Isabella Keogh scored the goal for the Warriors with Emma Rogorzenski picking up the assist.
• Lily Morgan made 10 saves, her fourth career double digit save performance.

UP NEXT: The Warriors have quick turnaround as they stay on the road to play the Boston College Eagles on Sunday, the 18^th. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.
