• Tied for the team lead with 12 starts, emerging as one of the staff’s top arms

• Led the staff with 64 strikeouts
• Set a career high with two 10-strikeout games against Saint Michael’s (4/19) and Southern Connecticut (5/9)
• Totaled nine quality starts, the third most among Merrimack’s starters

• NE10 All-Rookie Team
• Two-time NE10 Rookie of the Week (2/12, 3/26)
• Ranked third on Merrimack with 54.1 innings pitched
• Posted a 4-4 record with a 4.80 ERA, striking out 44 batters compared to just 26 walks
• Threw his first-ever complete game in a win vs. Saint Rose (4/7)
• Handed nationally ranked New Haven just its second loss of the year in a seven-inning one-run effort (3/25)
• Two of his three quality starts came against future NCAA Tournament programs (New Haven, SNHU)

Before Merrimack:

• Four-year letterwinner at Monsignor Farrell on Staten Island in New York
• His team finished second in the CHSAA as a junior
• Won the CHSAA Championship as a senior
• Won the CHSAA City Championship as a sophomore, during which Zappulla pitched the championship game
• Staten Island Advance All-Star and two-time Cy Young winner
