Athletics Diversity Committee
Mission Statement:
To create a community within athletics where we better understand one another, celebrate our differences and welcome diversity. We will accomplish this by spreading awareness of the inequalities people face daily by listening to student-athletes and inviting stories regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion in our Merrimack College community. We will work to educate our peers, staff and faculty by organizing and implementing special events and educational programming and working collaboratively with campus partners. We will serve as the bridge from student-athletes to administration in order to address diversity, equity and inclusion concerns in the athletic department and on campus. Our vision is to create a community within athletics where we better understand one another, celebrate our differences and welcome diversity.
Goals:
- Address the issues of inequality and the importance of its awareness
- Ensure that every student and student-athlete feels welcomed in the athletic department and create an environment in which everyone feels safe and equal.
- Believe In and Create a better future by taking the first steps within our own community
All student-athletes are welcome to join and participate!
