NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's soccer team will host New Haven on Saturday as part of Senior Day from Warrior Stadium at 1 p.m. The Warriors will look to win their fourth straight contest, making a push for the playoffs as the regular season winds down.
Last Time Out
- The Warriors won their third straight game, defeating Southern Connecticut State, 1-0, in double-overtime on Tuesday night. Junior Gigi Guenther (Webster, Mass.) scored in the 107th minute to send Merrimack to victory. Senior Sarah Boucher (Northbridge, Mass.) added an assist. Sophomore keeper Erin Fulton (Farmington, Conn.) made five saves for her second-career shutout.
- Guenther now leads the team with five goals, a career-high for the junior, while Boucher has picked up her sixth assist of the season, also a career-high.
Last Season/Inside the Series vs. New Haven:
- Last season Merrimack blanked the Chargers, 2-0, on the road. Boucher had a goal in the contest, while senior Mia Reed (Essex Junction, Vt.) and junior Amber Gustafson (Lancaster, Mass.) each had assists. Senior keeper Molly Meehan (Fairfield, Conn.) had eight saves.
- The Warriors have a 13-4-1 record since the 1993 season. Merrimack has won the last two games by a combined score of 4-1.
The Chargers
- The Chargers enter the game with a 5-7-3 record, and are 2-6-2 in NE10 play. Last time out, New Haven played to a 1-1 Tie against AIC on Tuesday night.
- Emily Morello leads the team with three goals and an assist for seven points, while Marisa Pacapelli has three tallies.
