EDISON, NJ- The Merrimack women's soccer team clinched their first ever MAAC playoff berth this past weekend with a road victory. They have also achieved the first MAAC playoff berth in school history.

The Warriors went undefeated in the last three games of the regular season with a draw against Manhattan and wins against Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary's. This hot streak is what propelled them into the playoffs. In this three-game span, they scored seven goals with contributions from a variety of players.The other wins this season have came against UMass Lowell, Bryant, St. Peter's, Niagara, and Siena. Leading the charge as one of the top scorers is senior forward Ella Cormier. She found momentum at the right time, scoring 2 goals in the past 3 games. The team will look to her to be a key contributor in this weekend's playoff matchup. The Warriors will also lean on their young talent who have been factors all season such as Bella Keogh, Lauren Boughner, and Taylor Pedra. Bella Keogh is tied for the most goals on the team this season with four. Boughner and Pedra have made their presence known in their first collegiate season with two goals each. The team also has a group of veterans with playoff experience, namely Jillian Golden (3 goals and 3 assists this season), Julia Ostermann, Caleigh Christensen, and co-captains Abigail Cieri and Aja Alimonti. The third co-captain Lily Morgan has been in a league of her own while holding it down in goal. She has won defensive Player of the Week twice this season and has played in almost every game in the 2024 campaign. There is a lot of depth on this team and it will be useful in their upcoming playoff matchup. 7-8-3 is the team's overall record and they will look to make it 8 wins this weekend. The Warriors will be on the road for round 1, taking place this Sunday, November 3rd. They will be either the 5th seed or the 6th seed. Watch the blue and gold in the postseason on ESPN+.
