NEW BRITAIN, CT. – The Merrimack men's cross country team competed in the New England Championships where they placed 12
th overall in a field of 21 teams.
How it Happened
Senior
Billy Coakley had an impressive performance, leading the Warriors in the 5,000 meter course with his time of 14:45.40. Coakley earned a top-10 finish, coming in seventh in a field of over 80 runners.
Ryan Dyer also had a strong run, finishing the course in 15:07.27 to take 20
th place.
Aidan Dupill was the next Warrior across the line, placing 25
th with 15:11.91. Freshman
Sean Moore also helped the Warriors to a fourth-place finish, navigating the course in 15:31.53, good for 41
st place.
Reidar Aageson rounded out the Warriors top five racing 15:33.49 to take 43
rd. Senior
Jack Lombardi also added critical points, routing the 5k in 15:46.95 for 52
nd place.
This meet was against 10 other teams featuring top competitors: Central Connecticut, Providence, and UMass Lowell. The Warriors outscored Holy Cross by eight points and almost doubled their lead over New Hampshire.
