North Andover, Mass. – Merrimack College men's cross-country graduate student runner Billy Coakley was named MAAC Cross Country runner of the week, announced by the conference on Wednesday. 


Coakley, a grad student from Winchester, Massachusetts had an impressive performance at Central Connecticut State Mini Meet, leading the Warriors in the 5,000 meter course with his time of 14:45.40. Coakley earned a top-10 finish, coming in seventh in a field of over 80 runners.

The Warriors head to Montgomery, N.Y. to compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships, that will be held on Saturday, November 2^nd.
