NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College men's volleyball team lost their lone match of the week in three sets to Harvard.

Score: Merrimack 0, Harvard 3
Records: Merrimack (6-8, 1-1), Harvard (9-5, 3-1)
How It Happened
Merrimack was playing their first match since earning a sweep week beating three opponents. The Warriors came out swinging going up 6-1 as they were firing on all cylinders. The Crimson would then score 5 of the next 6 points to make it a one point game. Harvard would go on a six to one run later on in the set to take a 14-11 lead. A few small battles back and forth and it was close after a four to one run from the Warriors to make it a 20-19 first set. Harvard would go on to close it out 25-22.
The second set was close early on with each team securing points and battling back against each other. Harvard led 12-9 before they went on a 9-1 run to take a stranglehold on the second set at 21-10. The Warriors were able to push back a little bit but it was ultimately a Crimson second set win 25-16.
Merrimack wanted to avoid a three set sweep by trying to steal a third set victory. It started off perfectly for the Warriors who scored the first four points of the set. Harvard would quickly tie it up at five before Merrimack would regain the lead at two different points at 7-5 and 12-10. A seven to two run by the Crimson would catapult them into the lead as they would be able to hold it throughout the rest of the set. The Warriors would drop the match in three sets and fail to win their fourth straight losing the third set 25-22.
