Rapid Recap
On a day where Merrimack honored its dedicated seniors, they handed off the torch to some of the young freshman who jump started their careers this afternoon. Before the game, Sam Preston, Sophie Scearbo, Krissy Kakridas, Natalie Calkins, Georgia Parker, Holly Schweitzer, Kelly Corrigan, Taylor Jones and Team Manager Mollie Morrison were walked out by their friends and family on Senior Day for the hard work they've put in over the years. The team felt the energy from the start, scoring the first goal at 13:44. Howard would respond on a free position goal right after, but the Warriors ran away with the game quickly from there. Merrimack tallied on 8 goals in the span of six minutes, which included 2 from grad student Sophie Scearbo and another from grad student Natalie Calkins. At the end of the 1st quarter Merrimack had a commanding 11-2 lead. In the 2nd quarter, the Warriors slowed down slightly offensively but kept up the same defensive intensity, shutting out Howard. Grace Boneu would cap off a Merrimack 6-0 run and they would go into the half up 15-2.

The second half saw much of the same and the Warriors continued their near perfect play. Freshman Dylan Lee would score her first collegiate goal with 8:47 in the 3rd quarter. After scoring her first point of the season last game against Harvard, Ellen Church would net back-to-back goals, one of which was assisted by senior Georgia Parker who had 4 points on the day. Entering the 4th quarter up 20-2, freshman Olivia Zalinsky netted her first two career goals, with the second being assisted by Sophomore Abbey Burchfield, her first career point. Merrimack would finish out strong and beat the Bison by a final score of 22-4 on Senior Day.
