#14 Women’s Lacrosse Shoots for Sixth Straight vs. Saint A’s

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – With eyes on a sixth straight victory, the 14th-ranked Merrimack College women's lacrosse team turns exclusively to Northeast-10 Conference competition for the remainder of the regular season starting with a huge Wednesday (April 11) night matchup under the lights against Saint Anselm College. Game time from Merrimack Stadium is 7 p.m.

BEER GARDENS AVAILABLE FOR HOME GAMES
Merrimack is pleased to offer a 21 Beer Garden on the stadium patio for select women's lacrosse home games (opposite the press box side, closest to the Merrimack Athletics Complex). The patio opens one hour before game time and closes midway through the second half. Light snacks are also available for purchase. 

Inside the Series:
  • Merrimack holds a 12-9 edge in the all-time series against Saint Anselm.
  • The Hawks, however, have won the last five games in the series, as Merrimack's last win was a 14-11 victory at home on March 10, 2012.
  • Last year, Saint Anselm held off Merrimack on the road despite three different Warriors netting hat tricks in an eventual 19-13 defeat.
Last Time Out:
  • No. 14 Merrimack rolled to a 19-2 victory over Queens College on Friday afternoon in a snowy cross-conference matchup at Merrimack Stadium. The win was the fifth in a row for the program, which now has eight wins for the first time in seven years. Sophomore Ally DaCosta set the program record for assists in a single game (8), doing so in the first eight minutes of the contest, while 11 different Warriors scored at least one goal on Friday.   • Merrimack's schedule features seven opponents that are ranked in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national rankings.
  • The Warriors already faced Adelphi (ranked second when they played), Mercy (ranked 12th), Pace (14th), Stonehill (20) and New Haven (8), and upcoming ranked opponents include Le Moyne (3), Bentley (20) and Assumption (24).
'Mack Facts:
  • Merrimack's 8-3 start is its best mark since the 2011 season that saw them finish 12-7.
  • Merrimack also now is riding its first five-game winning streak since the 2010 season.
  • The NE10's third-ranked offense enters Wednesday averaging 16.09 goals per game, as the Warriors have posted double-digit goal totals in each of their first 11 games, doing so for the first time since 2010 when they did so in 14 straight games.
  • On the other end, Merrimack has the third-best scoring defense in the league allowing 9.36 goals per game.
  • Junior Amber Feminella leads Merrimack – and ranks second in the NE10 – with 44 goals and ranks fourth overall in the league with 53 points on the season.
  • She is one of seven Warriors with double-digit scoring figures; sophomore Ally DaCosta is one of the top playmakers in the country, averaging 3.78 assists per game (6th/NCAA) while her 40 total points (6g, 34a) ranks second on the team.
  • Rookie Haley Bartlett and junior Bridget Schofield also have over 30 points with 36 on the year, with Bartlett ranking second on the team with 30 goals.
  • Sophomore Olivia Colletti leads the team with 35 draw controls, while freshman Kelsey Daly has caused a team-most 13 turnovers.
  • Sophomore Tammy Nguyen has started eight games in net for Merrimack and owns a .422 save percentage and a 11.79 goals against average. Junior Lauren Trepaney has played in the last five games with three starts and owns a 6.34 GAA and .610 SV%.
Scouting Saint Anselm:
  • Saint Anselm is 7-4 after falling to Le Moyne its last time out with a 5-2 mark in league play.
  • The Hawks average over 15 goals a night while yielding 12.15.
  • Meaghan Sheehy is the NE10's second-leading scorer with 69 points (37g, 32a), leading the Hawks in both major scoring categories.
  • Erica Mattila has grabbed a team-best 73 draw controls, while Zoie Cavotta's 30 ground balls are most on the squad. Molly Beck and Marta Versprille both have 14 caused turnovers.
  • Cavotta has started all 11 games in net, owning a 12.25 GAA and .476 SV%.
