NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 21 Merrimack College women's lacrosse program will play open up the final week of the regular season with its last scheduled home game of the year, as the Warriors take on Franklin Pierce University Wednesday night. Game time from Duane Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
Five Things To Know:
- Merrimack is coming off a hard-fought two-goal road loss at nationally ranked Bentley last Tuesday. The Warriors had a lead late in the second half of that contest before the Falcons rallied with the last three goals of the contest. Despite the loss, Merrimack still has won four of its last seven games, outscoring its opponents 96-67 in that span while averaging just over 13 goals per game during that stretch. All of their losses this year have been against nationally ranked teams, as well as one Division I opponent.
- Merrimack is now averaging 12.79 goals per game while yielding 10.07 per game on the other end, ranking sixth and fourth, respectively, in the NE10 in both category. They've scored 10-plus goals in 12 out of their 14 games thus far while limiting opponents to single digits in eight games, as well.
- With eight hat tricks in 14 games, senior Amber Feminella continues to lead the team in scoring with 55 points on the season (41g, 14a). Sophomore Haley Bartlett, the 2018 NE10 Rookie of the Year, is right behind her with 49 points (38, 11a), while junior Ally DaCosta is the team's top playmaker with 19 assists and has 36 points overall (including 22 in her last seven outings). Feminella also leads the team with 54 draw controls, ahead of rookie Olivia Valdes' 35, while sophomore Kelsey Daly – a 2018 NE10 All-Conference Third Team selection – has caused 15 turnovers, the most by any Warrior.
- Senior Lauren Trepaney has started every game in net and ranks in the top-25 nationally in both goaltending categories and in the top-four in the NE10 (10.11 GAA, .505 SV%); her 10.14 saves per game are good for second in the conference and 24th in the country.
- Merrimack ended a four-game losing streak – the longest in the all-time series – against Franklin Pierce last year after a 21-14 road win, extending the Warriors' all-time series lead to 14-5. The Ravens enter Wednesday at 6-8/3-8 NE10 having lost five straight. Savannah Ernst's 59 points lead all Ravens (52g, 7a), as do her 45 draw controls. Megan Bacik has started 13-of-14 games in net and has a 14.43 GAA and .390 SV%.
