NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team will host Long Island University on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Warriors are coming off a 62-51 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday. Entering the weekend Merrimack tied for third place in the Northeast Conference (NEC) with a 5-3 record.

st is Big Prize Giveaway Day at Hammel Court. The Warriors will be giving away a bookstore gift card at the end of the first quarter, a swag bag at the end of the second quarter, and an Uber gift card at the end of the third quarter. Students must be attendance to be eligible for the prizes.
Saturday's game will be Kids Day on campus sponsored by Pilot Pens USA. Pens and autograph books will be distributed before the game to youth in attendance, and a postgame autograph session will occur with members of the Warriors. The women's basketball team will also be host Alumnae Day with a number a former players returning to Hammel Court.

Five Things to Know:
- Senior Denia Davis-Stewart is averaging a conference leading 18.4 points and 13.2 rebounds per game this season. The fourth-year forward is closing in on quite the milestone in her Merrimack career. Davis-Stewart only needs 20 rebounds to become the second player in the history of Merrimack College with over 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Her 88 blocks on the season ranks her second in the country only behind Sara Hamson of BYU who has 92 send backs on the season.
- Sophomore guard Kate Mager currently leads the NEC in three-point percentage with a mark of .431 on the season. Mager has knocked down 47 long range buckets which leads the team. The New City, N.Y. native also ranks second in the conference in threes per game with 2.5 through 19 games this year.
- Freshman guard Kaylee Thomas is averaging 9.1 points through eight conference games this season. Thomas has scored in double figures four times in eight NEC contests, including scoring 14 points three times.
- In the Warriors last win against Fairleigh Dickinson head coach Monique LeBlanc earned her 121st victory making her the winningest women's basketball coach in school history.
- Long Island is currently 4-15 on the season, which includes going 3-5 in NEC play. Sophomore Brandy Thomas leads the Sharks in scoring averaging 14.3 points per game.
