BURLINGTON, V.T. – The women's lacrosse team hit the road to take on the University of Vermont Catamounts. The Warriors came up short in the match up that had been rescheduled from February 20. Despite the loss, highlights for the Warriors offensively included a hat trick by
Catherine Mahanna – her third hat trick this season.

How it happened:

st quarter:
- The UVM offense got things rolling quickly, scoring three goals in the first five and a half minutes of play. Catherine Mahanna was the first to score for the Warriors, after rebounding her own free position shot attempt.
- Vermont would respond to this offensive threat, finding the back of the net two more times, but Mahanna would score yet again within the final ten seconds of the quarter.
- Score at end of 1st: 5-2 UVM

nd quarter:
- Building off of Mahanna's offensive leadership, the Warriors came out strong for the second quarter. Sophie Scearbo and Olivia Valdes went back to back, scoring within the same minute of play.
- Georgia Parker would add to this, scoring on a no-look shot, again within one minute of the last Warrior goal. Parker's goal wrapped up a streak of four unanswered goals for Merrimack.
- Vermont would score six more times in the quarter, but would be split up by a third goal for Mahanna
- Score at end of 2nd: 11:6 UVM

rd quarter:
- Vermont left the Warriors scoreless in this quarter, and added six to their game total,
- Score at end of 3rd: 17-6 UVM
4th quarter:
- Mahanna found the back of the net for the fourth time in the game, again on the free position.
- Vermont would notch three more goals before the final buzzer.
Final Score: 20-7 UVM
Up Next:
The Warriors are back at it on Saturday, March 26 to host Howard University at Duane Stadium. Game is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
